たべもの & りょうり
日本食(和食) | Japanese Food
Japanese cuisine is called 日本食 nihonshoku or 和食 washoku. Japan is an island country and has long food history. A rice is the center of cuisine and always on the table, and fish or meat is the main dish. Old generation tend to like fish and young one like meat (chicken, beef and pork). Rice and みそ汁 Miso soup are Japanese soul foods and necessary for our home cuisine.

料理 | Japanese Cooking
If you are interested in cooking Japanese food, you need to know the Japanese verbs in the recipe. Yuderu and Niru are similar and mean “boiling”. Yuderu is to boil with water simply like boiling egg. Niru is to boil harder (and slowly?) like cooking Pot-au-feu.
