Tokyo 東京 is the biggest city of Japan and the center of business, politics and culture. When you travel Japan from overseas, it is better to use train or subway for sightseeing because, in general, Japan has towns near the train station. And Japan trains are very clean and convenient.

Many travelers go to Asakusa 浅草. I agree, Asakusa is one of most popular sight seeing spots. Sensouji 浅草寺 is a popular temple with Kaminarimon gate (雷門) in Asakusa and you can see Tokyo sky tree 東京スカイツリー there. Please don’t forget red beautiful Tokyo tower 東京タワー too. It seems Sky tree is more popular but Tokyo tower was a main tower for a long time before sky tree was started in 2012, and for me, Tokyo tower is a symbol of Tokyo.

Ueno 上野 is nice area for travel. It has a big park called Ueno park (上野公園) which has thousands of Sakura trees, Ueno zoo and some national museums. On April you can see beautiful Sakura views everywhere in Tokyo and Ueno Park is one of the most popular spots.

A train you need to remember at first is JR Yamanote line (山手線). This green line cover big towns including Shinjuku, Shibuya, Harajuku, Ueno, Akihbara…etc and many popular spots can be found.
